If the house is already standing and you want a floor added, that is a look at the existing structure, not a paint job. Grey structure either includes the upper floor now or it says the slab cannot take it.
Where an old house has been demolished, the grey structure starts with what was left in the ground. Old footings and random fill are common. We do not pour on top of them to save a week.
On this ground
